Ms. Marvel’s America: No Normal
Peter and Antero contributed a chapter to this volume, titled “THE TRANSFORMATIONAL RESISTANCE OF MS. MARVEL IN AMERICA”
This chapter looks at how issues 1-5 of Ms. Marvel function as a foundation for critical action and transformational resistance in schools and society. By reading Ms. Marvel and informing one’s pedagogy, comic books can allow students to better their “understanding of resistance as a site of possibility and of human agency” (Bernal and Solorzano, 2001).
